For UPEI’s CANARIE-Funded Research Data Management project, we needed to model an information architecture for managing researchers, funding info and datasets. We want to allow for non-developer users with knowledge of Drupal’s site-building tools to help shape the site’s user interface while still using this content as the source of standards-compliant linked data to the rest of the web. I’ll demonstrate how Drupal 8’s powerful entity field interface, augmented by Paragraphs and Inline Entity Forms, can represent complex metadata like adding contributors and relationships, and how we drive the DOI minting and submission workflow directly via Drupal’s built-in Content Moderation system.
